SNEAKER STALKER: Jordan Spiz’ike “Cement” (What I wore)

•June 16, 2011 • 2 Comments

Today I felt a little Spike Lee(ish) and decided to pull out the Jordan “Cement  Spiz’ike”. Also I had to compliment with the MARs Blackmon tee I felt it was only right with a pair of grey camo shorts. Many people have negative opinions about Spike’s line of Jordans, but In my opinion out of all the collaborations and fusions(pun intended) was the best of them all.

Let me know how you feel about what I wore today and the Jordan Spiz’ike line.

MUSICAL THERAPY: “Regulate” Warren G. (feat. Nate Dogg)

•March 16, 2011 • Leave a Comment

One of the greatest hook-makers has left us. Nate Dogg was pronounced dead tonight the cause has not yet been determined, but it has been mentioned that it possibly has to due with his history of stokes.

After his 1993 signing with Death Row Records Nate took the ’90s by storm with his deep and heavily melodic rhythm. One of his most memorable hits was “Regulate”, which he produced and featured along side his friend Warren G. Before that his first nationwide appearance was on Dr.Dre’s “Chronic” album.

It seems like from then on you couldn’t avoid a hearing his voice on every TV and radio station. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

VIDEO: Dunk SB “Statue of Liberty” (Stress Test)

•March 10, 2011 • Leave a Comment

This has to be one of the most anticipated SB release of the year. The first Sneaker to actually show the wear and tear that it has been put through. The “Statue of Liberty” not only shows the turmoil placed upon it, but it actually provides your sneaker to be completely different from any other pair on the street.

Originally scheduled for a February release, but I guess that’s why they’re called quickstrikes. The guys at PREMIER provided the visuals for this stress test.

SNEAKER STALKER: Air Jordan 1 “Max Orange”

•March 10, 2011 • 2 Comments

Spring is here and its time for the colors to pop. This is one of my favorite Jordan 1s even though these were actually dubbed “Infrared”. At the last minute JB scrapped that idea to go with Max Orange. Another change used instead on the final production was the use of nylon instead of the patent leather seen in previous images. Which I think would’ve taken away from the eye-catching beauty of the Max Orange.

SNEAKER STALKER: Kanye West’s “Black Cement”

•February 26, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Lets just say by some strange reason you did not know that Kanye was one of the music industry’s biggest sneaker enthusiasts. If so you may need to go back and do your research.

Not only is Ye a fan of the classics, but he created a frenzy in 2008 when the rapper teamed up withNike to release his own sneaker the “Air Yeezy”. This was a first from the company by any non-athlete. The sneaker was limited to only three colorways and totaled at only 3000 pairs.

The AJ3 is consider to be apart of the hierarchy of the Jordan Brand, but I’m not sure whether this is a 2011 variation or one the previous releases. Kanye has been spotted numerous amounts of times in the “Black Cements” amongst many others, but this time he was on set of his controversial “All of the Lights” video.

When Kanye’s my “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” dropped I immediately fell in love. In my opinion this video was well overdue.

NEWS: Dunk SB x Todd Bratrud “4/20 II”

•February 22, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Looks like the good folks at NSB have collaborated with Todd Bratrud again for another installment of the 4/20 version of the “Skunk” High SB. Last year Nike went all out on the promotion for this sneaker. Some shops had entire windows with simulated Mary Jane plants and the sneakers as buds hanging from the tree.

There are no known images of the April Quickstrike, but  you can believe that they’ll be popping up soon…

via Modern Notoriety

Rumors seem to be reality from the looks of these images we may see an Air Yeezy 2″ from the Nike/Kanye West camp. The fact that I consider the “Zen Grey” version of the 1st installment of the collaboration to be a grail has me very excited to see actual detailed images. I can definitely say that I’m excited about the possibility of this upcoming release to say the least.

SNEAKER STALKER: Air Max ’90 Premium “Wheat Skull”

•February 18, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Today I was feeling kind of Air Max(ish), so I decided to pull out one of my favorite pair of Air Max ’90s. I haven’t worn this particular pair in a while. This AM ’90 is dubbed the “Wheat Skulls” due to its elaborate skull and crossbone embossing on its mudguard.  The insole is also covered in the same skull and crossbone print with the inner lining done in pinstripe.

Funny thing about this pair is that its actually my 2nd pair. The 1st pair actually ended up being for some lucky person that attended the “Black Spring Break” in Daytona, Florida in ’08. I ended up finding these on eBay for $65. Normally I would’ve considered that a steal, but factoring in the notion that I had to replace my original pair threw that out the window.
